A Pioneer in the Art of Tattooing and Body Modification

Gary, the founder of Skinart, has been a cornerstone in the tattoo and body modification industry for over two decades. His journey began in 2001 when he opened his first tattoo studio in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, which quickly grew into a thriving business. Just eight months later, Gary expanded by opening his second studio, and over the next six years, he established a network of 15 studios and employed over 30 talented artists.

From Artist to Mentor and Educator

While his passion for tattooing remained strong, Gary realized his true calling lay in education. He noticed a gap in the industry: traditional apprenticeships took years and often left aspiring artists without the necessary skills to thrive. To address this, Gary developed a streamlined training program, distilling the core techniques of tattooing, permanent makeup (PMU), microblading, and body piercing into 36 comprehensive modules. His program emphasizes the technical expertise needed for a professional career in the body art industry, cutting down training time while raising the standard of education.

Since then, Gary has trained over 2,000 artists from around the world. His commitment to education and quality has earned him international recognition. Today, his passion for teaching takes him across the globe, sharing his vast knowledge with students and ensuring that the next generation of artists is equipped with both the skills and the professionalism required for success.
